Christine Pennacchio was born and raised in New York in the United States. In 2007 she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics Teaching, and then taught science for grades 5 through 12. In 2009, she spent one month in Prague, and another fantastic month traveling through Austria and much of Italy. After having finished her MLS (School Media Specialist) in 2012, Christine is working as a Youth Services Librarian at a public library, and as a Library Technician at an academic library.

The photo on the headline of this blog was one I took in Linz, Austria at the Ars Electronica (Electronic Art) Center in October 2009. It features a panel of moveable (a la giant abacus) LEDs. It seemed fitting for a profession that drives down the information superhighway. Also, I thought the modern twist would juxtapose nicely with the paper-and-ink themed-title of the blog.
